New Supermarket 2016

Plans are being discussed between Waitrose and the council regarding a new Supermarket on Pye Road in the centre of Heswall.
 
​Waitrose said any new development remains some way off but admits that it is keen to expand further in the North West with the central Heswall location “our preference”.

Waitrose said "We are continuing to work with the developer to explore the possibility, but there is a long way to go before we might be in a position to share plans."

The Society remains concerned about the traffic impact of any such development.

The Heswall Society is involved in local environmental issues and consulted by the Council on Conservation Areas. The Heswall Society review every planning application. We are the only residents' body which encourages the best designs of houses, retail and commercial properties in order to maintain the character and distinguishing features of Heswall. We are a local amenity society and our site contains local history, Heswall photographs, planning information, conservation area details, Heswall Society history, listed buildings and Friends of Heswall Open Spaces
